Saidpur Airport, Saidpur

Every community has a place that reflects its identity and serves the people in many ways. For my entry, I have chosen Saidpur Airport, one of the most important transportation hubs in northern Bangladesh.

Although Saidpur is well known as a railway town, I believe the airport has become one of the town's strongest symbols because it connects millions of people from northern Bangladesh with the rest of the country.

During my recent visit, I explored the airport area, observed its facilities, captured photographs from different angles, and recorded a short video. In this post, I would like to share my experience and explain why I believe this is a place everyone should know.

Saidpur Airport is located only a few kilometers from the center of Saidpur town. Visitors can easily reach it by rickshaw, auto-rickshaw, CNG, private car, or local transport.

2. Why do I think this is a need-to-know place?

I believe Saidpur Airport is a place everyone should know because it is the main gateway to northern Bangladesh.

Although Rangpur is a divisional city, it does not have an airport. Therefore, people from Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, and surrounding districts depend on Saidpur Airport for domestic air travel.

Every day, hundreds of passengers travel through this airport for business, education, medical treatment, tourism, and family visits. It represents the progress of my hometown and creates a positive first impression for visitors.

3. What services and activities are available here?

The airport provides various facilities for passengers and visitors, including:

  • Domestic flight services
  • Passenger waiting lounge
  • Ticketing counters
  • Security screening
  • Car parking
  • Restaurants and snack shops
  • Transportation services
  • Beautiful landscaped gardens
  • Comfortable passenger terminal

Many local hotels, restaurants, grocery shops, and transport businesses also operate around the airport, creating employment opportunities for local people.

4. What attracted me most during my visit?

The first thing that impressed me was the cleanliness of the airport.

The entrance road was well maintained, colorful flower gardens surrounded the terminal, and the overall environment was calm and organized.

I especially liked the landscaped garden in front of the terminal building where many visitors stopped to take photographs.

Although I did not board a flight, simply walking around the airport and observing its activities made the visit enjoyable.

5. A brief story about Saidpur Airport

While preparing this post, I learned something interesting.

Saidpur Airport was originally constructed during World War II as a military airbase. After the independence of Bangladesh, it was converted into a civilian airport.

Today it has become one of the busiest domestic airports in Bangladesh. Several airlines including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, NOVOAIR, and Air Astra operate regular flights from Saidpur to Dhaka.

There are also seasonal or connecting services to Cox's Bazar. Because of its strategic location, the airport plays a vital role in connecting northern Bangladesh with the rest of the country.

6. Would I recommend this place?

Yes, of course. I highly recommend visiting Saidpur Airport, especially for first-time visitors.

It offers a beautiful first impression of the town through its modern infrastructure, organized environment, attractive gardens, and excellent transportation facilities.

For me It is not just an airport. It is a symbol of development, connectivity, and the identity of northern Bangladesh.

My Personal Experience

My visit to Saidpur Airport was memorable. I spent time walking around the airport, taking photographs, and observing the movement of passengers.

The peaceful atmosphere, organized facilities, and beautiful landscaping impressed me the most. Even without taking a flight, I truly enjoyed exploring this important place.

It made me realize how an airport can become the heart of a community by connecting people, creating opportunities, and contributing to regional development.

About My Video

During my visit, I recorded a short video of approximately one minute.

The video shows the airport entrance, terminal building, gardens, and surrounding environment.

I believe it gives viewers a better understanding of the atmosphere than photographs alone.

Review:
The airport promotes a community, a lot of which both local and international visitors would get to know about. However, the disadvantages of an airport in a community, especially for those who live close to an airport, are just noise pollution; otherwise, an airport is the best infrastructure that a community can have.

Terimakasih temanku atas undangannya semoga anda beruntung 🌹👍
